Redispersible Latex Powder RDP

Product Description

Redispersible Latex Powder
Redispersible latex powder is a redispersible latex powder composed of vinyl acetate and ethylene copolymer, which can be dispersed again when it meets water. Mortar modified with redispersible latex powder has better adhesion, cohesion, flexural strength, abrasion resistance and construction performance. The redispersible latex powder contains a small amount of mineral additives as anti-caking agent, and no solvent, plasticizer and film-forming aid are added during the production process.
It has excellent saponification resistance, and is especially suitable for mixing with inorganic cementing materials such as cement and lime. It can improve the adhesive strength, flexural strength, plasticity, wear resistance of the gel material, and has no effect on the fluidity, thixotropy and water retention of the gel material. It has good compatibility with other additives, which can improve the mechanical properties and construction performance of mortar.
The products endow the mortar with excellent water resistance, improve the mechanical properties of the mortar, bond strength, flexural strength, plasticity, wear resistance and workability, and have excellent crack resistance in flexible anti-cracking mortar.
It has good bonding strength, excellent alkali resistance, weather resistance and frost resistance. At the same time, it has excellent flexibility under low temperature conditions. Widely used in repairing mortar, plastering mortar, adhesive mortar, ground mortar, etc., filling the gap in the multi-functional adhesive powder market

Application

Adhesives for tiles and construction
It is used to make a thin layer of hydraulic adhesive with good frost resistance, we recommend using 30~50% cement, 50~70% quartz sand, 1~4% redispersible latex powder and 0.15~ 0.5% high-viscosity cellulose ether (if anti-sag property is required). If necessary, organic fibers can also be added to improve sag resistance. To make the adhesive have high plasticity at very low temperature (less than 0 ℃).

Adhesive for exterior wall thermal insulation finish system (EIFS)
The hydraulic powder adhesive used for the exterior wall thermal insulation finish system should contain 25-45% cement, 4-6% redispersible latex powder, and 0.1-0.3% cellulose ether water-retaining agent. The above adhesive has excellent adhesion to the foamed polystyrene board. However, since the plate is made by thermal cutting, it is necessary to pay attention to the plate surface to avoid being too bright. It is important to perform an adhesion test for extruded polystyrene sheets in advance.

Self-leveling floor
It is recommended to add 1.5~12% of redispersible latex powder and 0.3~0.8% of casein when preparing self-leveling floor materials. To obtain a fast setting system, it is necessary to use Portland cement together with high alumina cement. Usually, a certain defoamer needs to be added.
For self-leveling materials without casein, redispersible latex powder can be used together with other superplasticizers, such as: melamine, lignin sulfonate or naphthalene sulfonate condensate, etc. Excellent effect.

Wall Putty
Add 2~4% of redispersible latex powder and mix with 0.2~0.3% of high viscosity fiber ethers for wall smoothing, thin coating of putty, etc., which can significantly improve the adhesion, wear resistance and flexibility of the above materials Sex.

Plastering and finishing mortar
Adding 1~4% of redispersible latex powder to cement or lime-cement-based decorative plaster can improve its adhesion, wear resistance and flexibility. In addition, it is recommended to add 0.2~0.4% cellulose ether, starch ether or a mixture of the two.

Batch materials for interior walls, putty and caulk
According to different strength requirements, it is necessary to add 2~15% of redispersible latex powder, and other organic additives such as cellulose ethers and starch ethers.

Modification of gypsum and anhydrous gypsum-based materials
Add redispersible latex powder to the repair materials and gypsum board using gypsum as the adhesive, which can improve the flexural strength, impact resistance and adhesion strength of the product. To improve water retention, additives such as cellulose ether can be added. It should be noted that the addition of water-retaining agent and redispersible latex powder N will increase the gas content of the mortar. For some special cases, it may be necessary to add a certain defoamer.
Redispersible latex powder is also very suitable for self-leveling floor materials based on gypsum and anhydrous gypsum. The recommended dosage is 2~6%.

Processing of dry-mixed mortar
For the production of powder dry mix mortar products, whether it is adhesives or batch materials, the redispersible latex powder is mixed with other dry powders in appropriate mixing equipment. During the mixing process, the temperature must not rise too high, otherwise it will cause the coagulation of the thermoplastic redispersible powder, thereby forming small resin agglomerates.
After adding enough water to the dry-mixed mortar, it can be stirred manually or mechanically. Because the shear force generated by manual stirring is small, it is best to let the stirred mixture stand for 5 minutes for aging, and then use it after stirring. This step is not necessary when using forced spiral mechanical stirring.
